Location:Qionghai City(琼海市) is located in the east of Hainan Province. It is one of home towns of overseas Chinese in Hainan Province.

History: Qionghai City has a long history. In Han Dynasty, Qionghai was under the jurisdiction of Daimao County. In three kingdoms period, it belonged to Zhulu County. In 633 AD, Qionghai belonged to Rongqiong County and Rongqiong County was renamed Lehui County in 660 AD. In Ming and Qing dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Qiongzhou prefecture.
On April 27, 1950, Qiongdong and Lehui County was liberated and they were under the jurisdiction of the Civil Administration in Hainan, Guangdong Province. On December 1958, approved by the State Council, Qiongdong, Lehui and Wanning constitute Qionghai County and the local government was set in Jiaji Town.
On November 6, 1992, the provincial government agreed to report to the State Council for the approval of revocation of Qionghai County and then established Qionghai City.
Climate: Qionghai belongs to tropical monsoon and marine humid climate. The annual average temperature is 24 ℃. The average annual rainfall of 2072 mm. The average hours of sunshine is 2155 hours. The average amount of radiation is 118.99 kcal per square. Qionghai City has no frost throughout the year.
Transportation: Air- The third international airport- Qionghai Bo’ao International Airport has got the permission from Civil Aviation Administration of China and the airport in under developed. After the completion of the airport, an important part of the airport is to serve for the Bo’ao Forum for Asia Annual Conference held annually in April.
Railway- Hainan East Ring Railway passes its territory. There are two railway stations in Qinghai City: Qionghai Station and Bo’ao Station.
Highway- No.223 state road and Hainan Island Rom highway pass Qionghai City from the north to the south. The highway run cross the city and it is accessibly to every direction.
Waterway- Qionghai have forty-three km of coastline. Longwan port, Tanmen Port, Bo’ao Port and Qingge port are distributed along the coast. The fisheries are throughout the Dongsha, Xisha, Zhongsha and nansha. Longwan Port is the only natural deep-water harbor in the eastern part of Hainan Island.

Attractions: Wanquan river(万泉河) is also known as baiquan River in the past. The river has two headstreams. One comes from the south ridge of Wuzhishan Mountain and the other comes from Limu Mountain. The upstream of Wanquan River comes from the high mountains and flows through the mountain valleys. After getting over Hekou Channel, the river becomes wide and flat.
