History: Similar to other regions of Guangxi, Qin Zhou includes a long-standing history which could be date back to Qin Dynasty (221-207 B.C.). After the unity of the Southern Range by Emperor Qin Shi Huang, Laibin was divided into the area under the jurisdiction of Xiang Shire, which was then governed by Hepu Shire from Han Dynasty, the Three Kindom Period to Jin Dynasty. It was initially enlarged into the scale of “Shire” by the end of Nan Dynasty, under the name of Moshou Shire. In the year of 598 of Sui Dynasty, the region was renamed as “Qin Zhou”, as “Qin” refers to “Quality and Service”, which was remained since then.
Climate: Qinzhou is located in the low latitude region which is dominated by the maritime climate and continental air mass. It is rich in precipitation and humidity, with an annual precipitation of 2104.2mm and a relative humidity rate of 81%. June and August are the months with the heaviest rainfall within a year. The dry winter receive limited amount of rainfall caused by the cold front, while the monthly temperature averages 10℃(50℉) and the climate is palatable. Highways- Qin Zhou is one the transportation hub within Guangxi Coastal Region, which is 119 kilometers from provincial capital Nanning, 99 kilometers from Beihai and 63 kilometers from Fangchengfang. Longmen Island Group occupies an area of 50 square kilometers on which over 100 distinctive islands randomly inlayed. The scenery is unique within the spot owing to the luxuriantly growing subtropical plants, which attach a sense of exotic feature to the traditional mountainous scenery. Event: “Jumping on the Hill” Festival(跳岭头节)- It is a traditional festival among Zhuang and Han Nationality in Qin Zhou region, which usually lasts for 10 days before or after the mid-autumn. The festival is referred to as “Hill jumping” since it is held along the hill surround the county in most case. The festival is only second to the Spring Festival in the eye of local people, as an assortment of extraordinary activities will present on the stage including ancestor worshiping, Martial Arts Performance, Guangxi Opera and so forth.
