With the influence of East Asia Monsoon, Nanjing has a temperate climate with four distinct seasons. The summer is hot and muggy. The winter is cold and damp. Spring and autumn are cool.
Wuhan, Chongqing and Nanjing are referred to “the blazing furnace” cities along the Yangtze River. The annual average temperature is about 15℃.According to the record, the highest temperature was 43℃ in July 13, 1934. the average annual rainfall is 1,062 millimeters. From mid-June to the end of July is the season of Meiyu, during which the city experiences a period of mild rain as well as dampness.
