Location: Lingshui Li Autonomous County(陵水黎族自治县) is located in the southeast of Hainan Island. It borders Sanya in the south and Baoting in the west.

History: Lingshui County has a long history. As early as the Neolithic period, our ancestors survived on this field. In Qin dynasty, Lingshui belongs to Xiang prefecture. In Han Dynasty, it belonged to Dan’er prefecture.
In 622 AD, the Tang government set Yazhou, Danzhou and Zhenzhou in Hainan Island. And Lingshui belonged to Zhenzhou. In 1073 AD, Lingshui began to be under the jurisdiction of Wan’an. In Ming and Qing Dynasty, Lingshui was in the charge of Qiongzhou.
On April 28, 1950, Lingshui County was liberated. On August 14, 1951, People's Government Lingshui County was established and it is under the Hainan Administrative Region. In December 1987, Lingshui County was renamed Lingshui Li Autonomous County. In April 1988, Hainan Province was established and Lingshui County under its jurisdiction.
Climate: As is located in the south of the Tropic of Cancer, the climate of Lingshui County is tropical monsoon islands climate. Summer is rainy and hot; winter is dry and cold. The annual average temperature is 25.2 ℃ and the average annual rainfall is 1500-2500 mm. Since the monsoon may affect islands, Lingshui County may hit by typhoons 3-5 times per year. The largest wind scale can be as strong as 12 grade, wind a speed of 40 m / sec.
Transportation: Railway- Hainan East Ring Railway passes Lingshui County and the railway station is called Lingshui Station. Tourists can take a train to Get Lingshui County.
Highway- Hainan island Rim Highway and 223 state road both pass Lingshui County. Lingshui County is just 72 kilometers from Sanya Phoenix International Airport and it has highway connected to Sanya City. So the traffic is very convenient.
Waterway- The natural harbor are Xincun Port, Li’an Port, Shanzhong Port, Shuikou Port and Gangpo Port. Xincun Port is the largest port with a water area of 33,390 acres (intertidal zone); an area of 18,537 acres are available.

Attractions: Fenjiezhou Island(分界洲岛) used to be an uninhabited island. It is located in the northeast of Lingshui Sea, about eight sea miles away from the Niuling tunnel. In May 2002, Lingshui Global Tourism Co., Ltd. invested tourism development on the island and almost overnight, Fenjiezhou Island gained fame outside the island and it has become a tourist destination.
