Location: Hefei (合肥) is in the very middle part of Anhui Province. It borders Huainan to the north, Chuzhou to the northeast, Chaohu to the southeast and Lu’an to the west.

History: Hefei has a history of more than 2,000 years since it was set up as Hefei County in Western Han Dynasty. Since the end of Eastern Han Dynasty, Hefei had always been a town of administration and military in Jianghuai District. In May 14th, 1938, Hefei was occupied by Japanese aggressors. After the victory of the anti-Japanese War, the provincial capital of Anhui province was settled in Hefei.
Climate: Hefei is under the influence of subtropical humid monsoon climate, featuring four distinctive seasons. Winters are damp and cold, summers are long and hot. The annual average temperature is around 15.7mm. Its annual precipitation is close to 1,000mm, mostly concentrating in May, June, July and Autust.
Transportation: Air-Hefei Xinqiao International Airport started its operation on 30th, May, 2013. It provides scheduled airlines to major cities in China and international cities as well. The international destinations include Hongkong, Macau, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Seoul, Jeju, Singapore, Osska and Bangkok.
Railway- At present, there are two railway stations in use. Hefei Railway Station is the largest railway station in Anhui Province, servicing passengers to Beijing, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hankou, Zhengzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen and so on. Hefei Western Station is the stop of Shanghai-Anqing Railway, Hefei-Anqing Railway, Hefei-Shenzhen Railway as well.
Highway- Hefei is the highway hub of importance in China. Hefei Ring Highway, National Road 206, 312, Beijng-Taipei Highway, and Shanghai-Shaanxi Highway run through the city.

Attractions: Chaohu Lake-Chaohu (巢湖) means “Nest Lake” in English, because its shape seems to be a bird’s nest. As one of the five fresh water lakes in China, Chaohu Lake covers an area of 400 kilometers. It is reckoned as the Oriental Geneva because of its convenient location in the Golden Triangle of Anhui. The lake insists of several tourists spots including Zhongmiao Temple, hot springs, Laoshan Island, etc.
