Location: Hechi(河池) is located in the northwest region of Guangxi Region, along Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, which is a key access toward coastal port in southwest China. It borders Liuzhou in the east, Nanning in the south, Baise in the west, adjacent Guizhou Province in the north.

History: The present located of Hechi was belonged to Baiyue Region in Qin Dynasty. During the reign of Emperor Qin, after the troops of Qin conquered the southern range area, three counties, namely Guilin County, Nanhai County and Xiang County were established. Ten years later, Zhaotuo, the officer of Nanhai County, rebelled the reign of Qin and took the administration power of Guilin and Nanhai, declaring emperor himself and establishing the country of South Yue. The present Hechi is situated in the very region of former South Yue.
In 1965, Hechi prefecture was ratified by the State Council, the government of which was located in Jinchengjiang Town, taking the administrative power of 10 prefectures. In 1971, Hechi Prefecture was renamed as Hechi Region, whereas transferred into a prefecture-level city in 2002 by the State Council, which governs 11 counties and districts.
Climate: Located in the low elevation of Guangxi Region, Hechi includes a subtropical climate with monsoon influence. After a short and moderate winter, the city is visited by a hot and long summer. Most region of the city is embrace by bright sunshine or rainfall. The annual mean temperature is 16.9-21.5℃(64.58-66.92℉), and the temperature progressively increases from south to north. Most region is free from the chilly winter. The average precipitation is 1200-1600mm annually. For sightseeing, the region is palatable and attractive in winter, spring and autumn.
Transportation: Airways- Hechi Airport(under construction) is located in Mount Jiantang, 37 kilometers northwest from the urban area of Hechi City. The 4C-grade airport measures 2200 meters in length, 45 meters in width, with the terminal hall occupying an area of 4200 square kilometers. After the completion of the airport, it is available for the taking off and landing of several sorts of crafts including CRJ200、ERJ145、B737-700、A320 and so forth.
Railways- There are 4 railway stations within the region, namely Jinchengjiang Station, Luocheng Station, Yizhou Station and Nandan Station, through which Line Guiyang-Liuzhou, Line Jinjiangcheng-Huanjiang County and line Yizhou-Luocheng connect the city with the outside region.
Highways- Hechi includes a convenient transportation system. There are Highways connecting, Yizhou, Liuzhou, Guiyangm Jinjiangcheng and Nanning together, which provides solid foundation of the rapid economic growth of Hechi Region.
Waterways- Hechi is abundant in the reserve of water resources, as there are numerous rivers flowing along the city, namely Hongshui River, Longjiang River, Diaojiao River, Panyang River, Qingshui River, Chengjiang River, Buliu River and so forth. It is estimated that the overall waterway length is up to 1001 kilometers within the city in 2012.

Attraction: The “Crystal Palace” (水晶宫)- The “Crystal Palace” is located in the Nashe Town, 44 kilometers northwest from Bama County. It is generated from karst area of peak cluster valley type, which is featured by distinctive elevation. The hole is located on the hillside which is rich in krast landscape, which is 150 meters above the modern erosion surface. The overall Crystal Palace is of white appearance, characterized by intense stones and stone-curving flowers. Besides, the region enjoys a favorable environment as the volume of negative ion is 5 to 10 times that of outside region. The Crystal Palace is a medium-sized whole with corridors along each side, which measures more than 600 meters in length, 8 to 40 meters in width and 10-35 meters in height. Gravels and fine sand sediments are remained in parts of the bottom of the hole.
