History: According to the record, Hanzhong has a history of more than 2,300 years, which is the birthplace of Han Dynasty. The city was formerly named Nanzheng, During the 18 Kingdoms interregnum preceding the establishment of the Han Empire by Liu, it was assigned to Liu Bang. During the Three Kingdoms Period Hanzhong, as a border city between the kingdoms of Wei and Shu, had considerable strategic importance, but only from the Wei side of the city.
Climate: Hanzhong belongs to subtropical climate zone. Qinling in the north keeps the cold snap in incursion as a barrier, it enjoys a temperate and humid climate. The annual average temperature is 14℃. The area is far more humid than central and northern Shaanxi, with 853 mm of precipitation annually. It has 1,569 hours of bright sunshine annually.
Transportation: Air-Hanzhong Airport is 1 kilometers away from the city center. At present, it only services airlines to Xian for each daily.
Railway- Nonstop Trains to Shanghai, Chengdau, Wuhan, Nanyang, Xian, Guangzhou, Fuzhou, etc could be available in Hanzhong.
Highway-Hanzhong has three coach station. Hanzhong Coach Station is the largest, servicing long-distance buses to Xian, Xianyang, Baoji, Taiyuan, Chongqing, Guangyuan, Lanzhou, Shenzhen, Fuzhou, Shanghai, Wuhan, Jinna, Tianjin, Zhengzhou and so on.

Attractions: Hanzhong Musuem- Hanzhong Museum (汉中博物馆), a comprehensive museum of local history, is established in 9th, Nov., 1958. The museum houses 12,000 items: 537 top rank items, 46 first class items, 85 second class items and 406 third class items including the thirteen inscriptions of Stone Gate, the ancient Baoxie plank road, excavations from tombs, and celebrity calligraphy and painting, as well as a contemporary revolution theme exhibition.
Zhang Liang Temple- Zhang Liang was one of the “three talents in the Han Dynasty”, who retired from state affairs and lived the life of a reluse in Pigu. Zhang Liang Temple (张良庙) is the only temple built on the instruction of the emperor, in AD 263. Some 40 years before the temple in Chengdu was built. It is now known as the "Number One Memorial Temple Under Heaven". It is a major relic under provincial protection.
