We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Get There and Away
Airline
Haikou Meilan Airport is located in Lingshan town of Meilan District, Haikou City. The airport is 25 kilometers from the center of the city and it takes only about 30 minutes to drive to the airport from the city. Meilan Airport has opened more than 60 domestic and international routes, including flights to Hong Kong, Macau, Fukuoka, Jeju, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and other places.

From Airport to Downtown
There is an airport bus to the Civil Aviation Hotel which is located in the center of Haikou City. The price of the airport bus is 15 yuan per person. The bus begins with the arrival of the first flight and ends with the landing of the last flight.
Taking the No. 21 and No. 41 bus can also arrive at the airport, but the operating hours are limited from 6:30 a.m. to 21:30 p.m.
You can also take a taxi to the downtown and it will cost about 50 yuan.

Waterway
At present, there are three seaports in Haikou. The three seaports are Haikou New Port, Haikou Xiuying Port and Haikou South port. Of the three seaports, Haikou Xiuying Port is the busiest one which has more lanes than other two ports. As a result, tourists from Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Zhanjiang can choose to ride a ship.

Railway
There are 3 railway stations in Haikou; they are Haikou Railway Station, Haikou East Railway Station and Meilan Railway Station. The East Ring High-Speed Railway starts from Haikou East Railway Station and stops at Meilan Railway Station. The destination of the train is Sanya so that tourists can travel the island conveniently.

Highway
There are three main highways connecting to other parts of the island running east, west and south distinctively.

The ticket price of buses differs from the distance of your routes and the price ranges from 1yuan to 5 yuan.

Taxi
The flag-fall price of a taxi in Haikou is 10 yuan, including the first 3 kilometers. Then it costs 2 yuan for each kilometer.
