History: Fuyang has a long and profound history. The southern part of Fuyang was developed earlier in history. After the Western Zhou, Huzi State was built within Fuyang borders. In Qing Dynasty, it was set up as Yinzhou Prefecture. The name was changed into Fuyang in the 13th Year of Yongzheng, in Qing Dynasty. After the found of the People’s Republic of China, Fuyang was set up as a regional agency, administrating 8 counties and 1 executive office.
Climate: Fuyang is in the south edge of warm temperate zone with the influence of the warm temperate semi humid monsoon climate. It features moderate rainfall, four distinctive season and temperate weather. The annual mean temperature is between 14.5℃ and 15℃,descending from south to north.
Transportation: Air-Fuyang Xiguan Airport lies in the southwest of Fuyang city, about 9 km from Fuyang downtown area. 7 routes to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Xiamen, Xian and Wenzhou have been opened.
Railway- Fuyang Railway Hinge composes a radiation shape with neighbored Xuzhou, Zhengzhou, Hefei, and Wuhan. Beijing-Jiulong Railway runs through the city. Fuyang railway station services trains to Beijing, Shanghai, Wenzhou, Ningbo, Dongwan, Wuhan, etc. It takes about 3 hours to Hefei.

Attractions: Wenfeng Pagoda-Wenfeng Pagoda (文峰塔) is in the Yinzhou Road, downtown of Fuyang city. It was built in Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). It is in brick structure with a height of 31.8 meters. It was said that the pagoda is an geomantic architecture. The pagoda was constructed to invigorate the local literature.
