History: Changzhou is an ancient city with more than 3,200 years. The earliest record about the history of Changzhou is at the beginning of the Western Zhou Dynasty and it was founded as a Chinese commandery in 221BC. In 589, it was named Changzhou and after the Grand Canal was constructed, the town became a canal port and a transshipment point.
Climate: With the influence of the East Asia Monsoon, Changzhou has perennial humid climate with four distinctive seasons. Summer is hot and rainy with the highest temperature of over 36℃. Winter is humid and cold.
Transportation: Air-Changzhou Benniu Airport is about 15 kilometers from the city center. There are flights to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shenyang, Kunming, Harbin and Dalian.
Railway: Shanghai-Beijing rail line passes through Changzhou. It is also a main stop on the busy Shanghai-Nanjing route. There are two railway stations in Changzhou: Changzhou Station and Qishuyuan Station.
Highway- China National Highway 312, Shanghai-Nanjing Highway, Yanjiang Highway and Chengdu-Nanjing Highway run through the city.
Specialties: Silks, handcrafts and textiles are common in Changhzou.

Attractions: Changzhou Yancheng- Changzhou Yancheng (淹城) is located in Wujin, about 4 kilometers from Changzhou. It is the ruins of Spring and Autumn Period with a history of over 2,800 years. The ruins cover an area of 0.65 square kilometers, surrounded by the three layers of town walls and moats. The wall is 20 meters high and 25 to 30 meters wide.
Tianmu Lake- Tianmu Lake (天目湖) has been listed as one of the prestigious 4A tourist attractions since 2001. It covers an area of about 300 square kilometers with an average depth of 10 meters. Tianmu Lake is highly reputed as one of the beat nature reserves in Jiangsu Province. You can have a fun by joining in fishing, picking up tea leaves and so on.
