History: As far back as Neolithic period, there are human activity footprints in Alxa Left Banner. Since the Spring and Autumn period and Warring States Period, lots of minority nationalities reproduced successively in this area. In 1697, Alxa Heshuo Special Banner was authorized, which has a history of more than 300 years up to now.
Climate: Alxa Left Banner is the typical continental climate, featured with heavy wind and sand, drought, rainless, as well as adequate illumination. Its annual average temperature is 7.2℃ with the sunshine hours of 3316.
Local Food: The dinning in Alaxa is just like the other area of Inner Mongolia. Baked Whole Sheep is the most traditional and popular cuisine, featured fresh, crisp and soft with a shape of lie.
Attractions: Swan Lake-Swan Lake is in the east edge of Tenggeli Desert, about 12km southwest of Tonggu Zhuoer Sumu. The whole area of the lake is 3.2 square km, about 1500m from south to north and 500m from east to west. From April to June is the most fantastic period. Swan, wild goose, and ashen crane crow here, singing or dancing.
Ulan Buh Desert- Covering an area about 14,000km along the Yellow River, Ulan Buh Desert is an area with high population density. Sand barriers were erected first to fix the drifting sand, and then shrubs, trees and grass suitable for the desert were planted, such as sea buckthorn, caragana and salix.
