We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Southwest Region mainly refers to Sichuan province, Yunnan province, Guizhou province, Chongqing province and Tibet. Comparing to other regions, ethnic minorities occupies the largest proportion such as Miao、Yi、Zang、Bouyei、Dong、Bai、Hani、Dai、Lisu、Gelao、Lahu、Wa、Shui、Naxi、Qiang、Jingpo、Blang、Primi、Achang、Nu、Jino、Deang、Dulong、Lhoba, etc.. Yunnan has the most ethnic minorities, including 8 autonomous prefectures such as Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture. Tibet, as one of the five autonomous regions in China, is the largest place for Tibetan nationality.

Dong nationality (侗族) mainly inhabits juncture of Guizhou, Hunan and Guangxi. On the basis of the census in 2010, Dong nationality has a population of 2,870,000.

Gelo nationality (仡佬族) mainly gathers in Wuchuan Gelo and Miao Autonomous County and Daozhen Gelao and Miao Autonomous County in Guizhou province. According to the census in 2000, Gelo has a population of more than 579,744.

» Lahu Nationality

Lahu nationality (拉祜族), one of the ancient nationalities in China, originated in Gansu and Qinghai provinces. Nowadays, it mainly gathers in the west of Lancang River with a population of 411,476 on the basis of the 4th census.

» Wa Nationality

Wa nationality (佤族) mainly distributes in the southwest of Yunan province such as Ximeng, Cangyuan, Liancang, Menglian, Shuangjiang, Genma, Yongde, Zhenkang and so on. It takes up an population of over 350,000.
