Plan your Beijing side trips? If you swear by long-distance bus travel, Beijing is an ideal starting point for your side trips by coach to Chengdge, Datong, Tianjin, Qinhuangdao, Baoding, Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, Jinan and the list could be much longer. There are 12 National Highways and nine expressways radiating from Beijing in all directions, making Beijing the largest overland travel hub in China linking the major domestic cities. There are major 10 long-distance bus stations in Beijing. Each coach station has own bus routes while some overlap their travel routes. Most of the 10 long-distance coach stations are located close to the third ring road around Beijing.

How to get there: Take subway line 1 and get off at the station of Sihui (四惠站) or take public buses
Destinations: Tianjin, Qinhuangdao, Chengde, Chifeng, Zunhua, Baotou, Dailian, Panjin…
2. Liuliqiao Long-distance Bus Station 六里桥客运站
Add: Jia 19, Liuliqiao Nanli, Fengtai District 丰台区六里桥南里甲19号
How to get there: Take public buses like Te2, Te7, Te 8 (inner loop), 201, 205…
Destinations: Shijiazhuang, Baoding, Hunyuan,Yingxian, Changzhi, Datong, Wuxi, Hefei…
3. Bawangfen Long-distance Coach Station 八王坟客运站

How to get there: take public bus 11, 30,31, 486. 595
Destinations: Tianjin, Qinhuangdao, Tangshan, Baotou, Dalian, Panjin, Changchun…
4. Xianglong Zhaogongkou Long-distance Coach Station 祥龙赵公口客运站

How to get there: Take bus 17, 69, 213, 434, 626 654
Destinations: Tanggu, Tianjin, Chengde, Fengning, DatongHarbin, Shanghai, Jinan, Qingdao
5. Muxuyuan Long-distance Bus Station木樨园客运站

6. Lize Long-distance Coach Station 丽泽长途汽车站

7. Xinfadi Long-distance Bus Station 新发地长途客运站

Beijing Long-distance coach travel tip:
1. Be clear of your destination and your bus station.
2. You can buy your bus ticket on board, or you may book in advance during tourist high season.
3. Your route may include many layovers, which could take 5 minutes to 20 minutes.
4. Before you are on board, you should eat some food. Don’t eat on board.
4. Some buses stop only once or twice between the departure and destination cities.
5. To use a toilet, you should remind your driver to stop at a service area.
6. Avoid to take a long-distance bus in a rainy or foggy day.
7. Bring a rubbish bag on to your coach.
8. Drink less to reduce the chance to use a toilet.
9. Holiday weekends are especially busy.
