We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

The karst cave is divided into 8 viewing areas named after the unique rock formations, the stalactites, stalagmites, and columns that can be found inside the cave. The formations were created over thousands of years by dripping water. Some of the eight viewing areas are given interesting names like "Fairyland in Penglai", "Spring Rain in Southern China", "Water Curtain Cave", "Heavenly Torch" and so on.

Tips for Beijing Cave Tour

1. These are commercial caves which are set up with lights aplenty.
2. Try to avoid weekend and find a slow day to go caving.
3. Though caves are already well lit, try to have a tripod for good photos.
4. Don't ever go caving alone and always have a guide with you.
5. Caves are cold and often wet. Make sure you wear warmly according to the season.
6. Wear comfortable breathable clothes but not loose enough to snag on sharp edges along the way. Long sleeves and pants will protect you from unnecessary cuts and scrapes, while sturdy hiking boots with good traction will protect you from slipping on uneven cave floors.
