TripAdvisor
We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Beijing Summer Palace & Olympic Sites Subway Self Guide Tour

Beijing Summer Palace & Olympic Sites Subway Self Guide TourFirst take subway line 4 and get off at Beigongmen (北宫门), then walk to to Summer palace. Summer Palace was a royal palace in later Qing Dynasty, only secondary to the Forbidden City ( now the Palace Museum ). Summer Palace is actually not just a royal palace where once Princess Dowager Cixi and the emperor lived and handled court affairs, accepted laudations and received foreign diplomats during their stay in the Summer Palace. It also epitomizes classical Chinese architecture, in terms of both garden design and construction. It is the largest royal garden in Beijing, now a good retreat for holiday makers.
1. You are advised to buy entrance tickets instead of through tickets.
2. Once you enter the park of Summer Palace and are also interested in some of the paid attractions inside the park, you may purchase a separate admission ticket one by one.
3. Students enjoy half prices.
4. Children under 1.2m high are free of charge.
How to visit Summer Palace

Beijing Summer Palace & Olympic Sites Subway Self Guide TourAfter visiting Summer Palace, again take subway line 4 and interchange at Haidianhuangzhuang (海淀黄庄) for subway line 10. Again interchange at the stop of Beitucheng (北土城) for subway line 8 and get off at the stop of Olympic Park and exit from Exit D. Once you come out from the subway, you are inside the Olympic Park. The park is free to the public. The successful Beijing 2008 Olympic Games has left a deep impression on people’s mind in the world. For many foreign visitors, the temptation is great to visit the Bird’Nest (Beijing National Stadium ) and Water Cube (Beijign National Aquatics Center). The Olympic Green, an Olympic Park in Beijing was constructed for the 2008 Summer Olympics. The National Stadium ( bird's nest)hosted the main track and field Football, and final competitions for the 2008 Summer Olympics, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies.
