Beijing Dinner & Night Boat Tour

Pick up from your hotel around 6:00 pm. Then head to a Chinese restaurant for dinner - a Sichuan food restaurant with face Changing Show. This restaurant offers typical new Sichuan cuisine. Over your dinner, you have the chance to see a few minutes of the face-changing show. Face changing is the highlight of Sichuan Opera. Legend goes that ancient Chinese people painted their faces to frighten away wild animals and ghosts.

Then head to River Romance Dock which is located opposite the "Lotus Market" bar street in Shichahai (Houhai Lake and Qianhai Lake). Start boating around 8:30pm. The local boat company uses the paddle boats which are 7 meters in length and 1.7 meters in width. It is made in line with the old Chinese Traditional painting dating to the Song Dynasty 800 years ago.

All the boats are paddled by the boatmen who wear in yellow vests and bamboo hats. All the boats are equipped with all the red lanterns. You can enjoy some tea and local snacks on the boat. And at the same time, you also have the chance to get a close view of the local people's daily life on the banks. The boat goes along the water front which is lined with many restaurants and bars that have cool neon signs and lights.

After the boating, our tour guide will take you to Nanluoguxiang for a great walk. Nanluoguxiang is an ancient lane or hutong with a history of over 700 years dating back to Yuan Dynasty in 13th and 14th century. Running from north to south, this lane is about 800 meters long with 16 hutongs - 8 hutongs on each side of the lane. The lane is now famous for the cafes, bars, inns and clothing and handcraft shops that line its hutong laneways as well as its traditional hutong and courtyards (siheyuan).

Return to your hotel downtown Beijing.

This tour is designed for your own traveling party and no other tourists will join you. So you have much flexibility and freedom. On the evening of your tour departure date, our tour guide will go to your hotel ahead of your pick-up time in the lobby, holding a sign with your name. When you come down to the hotel lobby, just look around for the sign to meet our tour guide.

You will have the narratives of local history and culture by your tour guide while you are comfortably sitting in the air-conditioned vehicle of your exclusive use and enjoying the views passing by.
