  2. Dear Russell Johnson,

    1. If you want to avail yourself of the 144-hour visa-free stay when you arrive in Beijing, you cannot fly from Beijing to Shanghai. You can only be allowed to stay free of visa in Beijing, and Tianjin and Hebei ( excluding Shanghai ).

    2. For the 144-hour free-visa stay in Beijing, you need to show your next ticket to Hong Kong.

    Good Luck!

  3. hello,

i am traveling from LAX to ICN with a 2 day layover in Beijing. Do i check my bag in all the way to seoul? or only to Beijing?

    thank you!

  4. Dear Velvet,

You can only carry your carry-on bag ( some clothes for change or other stuff for your use only in Beijing ) and have your checked luggage ( large suitcases ) automatically taken to your destination.

Alternatively you can take your checked luggage in Beijing, than again check in Beijing and take your luggage on the flight for your next destination.

    Have a nice time!
