When is the best time to visit Pingyao?

Are you planning your Pingyao tour? Pingyao, which is a county in central Shanxi province, is about 715 kilometers from Beijing and 80 kilometers from Taiyuan. The famous ancient city is located in Pingyao County. The temperature in Pingyao is low and has a large difference from day and night.

The best time to travel to Pingyao is autumn and winter, since the landscape of Pingyao is most beautiful during this time. Different seasons give the ancient city different appearances.

Pingyao in Spring
Spring in Pingyao is quite short with cool and dry climate. The continental monsoon half dry climate makes Pingyao a large temperature difference between day and night in spring, and strong wind but little rainfall.

What’s more, the windstorm is commonly taking place in this season, so remember to take a sunglass and sun cap and avoid wearing light color clothes. Drink as much water as possible in case of becoming dry lip.

In summer, it is usually very hot and lots of rain in Pingyao. The temperature stays quite high, and most of the rain falls in this season.

The highest temperature of the city is around 30℃. In summer. Remember to take your sun glasses, suntan lotion and umbrella with you.

Pingyao in Autumn
Autumn in Pingyao, which is also quite short, begins in September. When autumn comes, the rainfall reduces gradually. In the fall, the temperature will be little lower and you will be quite comfortable for the little rainfall and all day sunshine.
