  • DAY 1

    Lhasa

    Welcome to Tibet, the Roof of the World! Your journey begins at Lhasa where you will be met by your tour guide at the airport and escorted to the hotel. You will have the rest of the day to explore the city on your own and acclimatize to the high altitude.

    Tips of the day:

    As part of the acclimatization, we recommend that you avoid strenuous exercise and even bathing. It is best to take it easy, drink plenty of water and rest as much as possible. Overnight hotel accommodations.

  • DAY 2

    Lhasa

    On this day, your guide will assist with the necessary paperwork to obtain your local motorcycle license. The rest of the day is set aside for you to acclimatize and explore the city on your own.Overnight hotel accommodations.

  • DAY 3

    Potala Palace- Jokhang Temple- Barkhor Street- Sera Monastery

    Start today’s Lhasa exploration with an exciting visit to inonic Potala Palace,regarded as one of the most beautiful buildings in the world.In addition,you will also visit Jokhang Temple which is considered the spiritual heart of Tibetan Buddhism.Our visit would not be complete without walking Barkhor Street,the ancient route to circumambulate Jokhang Temple.The last site of the day will be the famous Sear Monastery,where you will have the opportunity to observe monks debating in a courtyard as the have done for hundreds of years.

    Tips of the day:

    •There are 1080 steps up to the top of Potala Palace.We recommend that you take it easy due to the high altitude;

    •Taking photos is not allowed inside the palace;

    •Today you will be mostly outdoors,plase bring some water,a hat,sun screen and sun glasses.Overnight hotel accommodations.

    Lhasa-Yamdrok Lake- Karola Glacier-Shigatse

    A thrilling motorcycle ride is about to begin today!

    We will leave Lhasa and ride to Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet. The first site you will reach is the sacred Yamdrok Lake (altitude: 4,400m),the largest freshwater lake on the northern of the Himalayan range.Just passed Yamdrok Lake,you will see the imposing Karola Glacier towering at an altitude of 5,045m. Continuing on, we will arrive at the historical city of Gyantse.home of striking religious sites dating back to the 15th century. From there we will ride to our hotel in Shigatse (altitude 3,800m.)

    Shigatse-Lhatse-Saga

    280 miles / 450 KM

    After breakfast we will head to Saga via Lhatse. Keep your eyes open as you may see some the wild animals that roam this region of Tibet. Overnight hotel accommodations in Saga.

    Saga-Lake Manasarovar-Mt.Kailash-Darchen

    304 miles / 490 KM

    On our ride from Saga to Paryang, we will weave our way through the small town of Zhongba amidst enchanting panoramic views. With some luck ,we will see more wild animals upon crossing the Mayum-la pass (5,216m). After a short rest at Darchen, we will ride about 50km to Lake Manasarovar, one of the three sacred lakes in Tibet. Overnight hotel accommodations in Darchen.

    Darchen-Zada Tholing-Zada

    143 miles / 230 KM

    Today we will start our ride through the pristine grasslands at the foot of Mt. Kailash where we may spot the rare black-necked crane, and with much luck, we may even see a wolf. Breathtaking views of Mt. Kailash will accompany our journey. As we ride on the windy road to Zada the landscape unexpectedly becomes desert-like with peculiar clay forests.     Zada-Guge Kingdom-Lake Rakshestha-Burang

    205 miles / 330 KM

    Early in the morning we ride to Tsaparang, the oldest center of Guge Kingdom where the former Summer Palace of the Kings towers over the landscape. A fortress wall and four temples guard the entrance. On our way back to Zada, we will also enjoy views of Zada Tholing. Another highlight of today will be viewing Mt.     Burang-Paryang-Saga

    335 miles / 540 KM

    This morning we will have the opportunity to witness a dazzling sunrise at Lake Manasarovar before riding back to Saga. As we retrace our original route, we will relish the sight of Mt. Kailash for one last time. Overnight hotel accommodations in Saga.

    Saga-Pelku Tso Lake-Mt.Shishapama- OldTingri Mt. Everest Base Camp.

    199 miles / 320 KM

    Today we will cross the Bramaputra River and continue our journey through tranquil sandy plains where herders can often be seen with their yaks and sheep. Midway through today's ride we will stop to appreciate a phenomenal panorama composed of Pelku Tso Lake with Mt. Shishapama in the background, the 14th highest mountain in the world at 8012m. During the course of the day we will enjoy captivating vistas of additional Himalaya peaks such as Mt. Makalu (8463m), Mt. Lhotse (8561m), Mt. Everest (8844m), and Mt. Cho Oyu (8201m) as we ride to Old Tingri. Continuing for another 100km we will reach Rongbuk, home of the Everest Base Camp. A stunning sunset will signal the end of the day as we retire to our overnight accommodations in a tent guest house (dorm bed).

  • DAY 11

    Mt. Everest Base Camp-Tingri-Lhatse-Shigatse

    248 miles / 400 KM

    After breakfast we will depart from Mt.Everest's Base Camp and ride to Rongbu monastery via the Pang-La pass. Atop the pass we will be rewarded with spectacular views of the Himalaya Range, home of the world's highest peaks. Overnight hotel accommodations in Shigatse.

    Shigatse-Tashilhunpo Monastery-Damxung

    205 miles / 330 KM

    Our day begins with a visit to the official seat of the Panchen Lama: Tashilhunpo Monastery, the is the largest and most influential Gelug monastery in the Shigatse Prefecture. We will have the opportunity to walk the cobblestone alleys and visit halls and chapels in this culturally important site. Later in the day,our ride through the Tibetan Plateau takes us to the Yangpachen hot springs on our way to Damxung. Overnight hotel accommodations in Damsung.

  • DAY 13

    Damxung-Namtso Lake-Lhasa

    174 miles / 280 KM

    We start the day by crossing the Nagen-La pass (5190m) and beholding Namtso Lake surrounded by a serene grassland landscape. Namtso Lake, one of the three sacred lakes in Tibet is also the highest lake in the world standing at 4718m above sea level. We continue our ride to Lhasa to return our motorcycle rentals.     Lhasa

    This morning we will say farewell to Tibet, our guides and driver as this amazing journey comes to close. Transfer to Lhasa airport will be arranged for your flight home.

Important Notes

  • 1. Participants must be over 18 years of age, in good health and must bear a Tibet Entry Permit. A motorcycle license from the People's Republic of China is required to rent and ride motorcycles in Tibet.
  • 2.Please wear a helmet conforming to DOT international standards,riding clothes,riding pants,riding gloves,riding boots,etc. (Note: We have a small quantity of men's pull-on suit for rent (excluding helmets, gloves, riding boots).
  • 3.Passengers on a motorcycle are strictly prohibited. Only one person is permitted on a motorcycle at all times.
