History: Mudanjiang’s history could be traced back to 3,000 years ago. In Tang Dynasty, Bohai state once built up the capital in the area. In Dec., 1937, Mudanjiang upgraded into city-prefecture and was liberated in August, 1945.
Climate: Under the influence of the temperate continental monsoon climate, Mudanjiang’s climate features hot, humid summer and cold and dry winter. Its annual average temperature is 6.1℃. Due to the basin terrain, the temperature in winter is a little higher than other parts of Heilongjiang Province. The average precipitation ranges from 500-600mm, almost three fifths of which occur from June to August. The city receives 2,368 hours of bright sunshine annually.
Transportation: Airway- Mudanjiang Hailang Airport is a civilian-military airport, situated in the southwest of Mudanjiang city. It is an important air transfer hub in the southeast of Heilongjiang province, opening scheduled airlines to domestic cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Dalian, Shenyang, Qingdao, Changchun and international airlines to Korea’s Seoul and Russia’s Khabarovsk.

Attractions: Jingpo Lake-Jingpo Lake (镜泊湖) is the typical molten rock dammed lake in China and the second large mountain dammed lake in the world. The lake covers an area of 91.5 square kilometers with a length of 45km from southwest to northeast and a width of 6km from east to west.
