We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Potala Palace(布达拉宫) is a holy land for Tibetan people where they must go in their lives. The Potala Palace is the most well-preserved and the largest castle-style buildings. To the Potala Palace, you can not only watch the collection of a large number of historical relics in the palace, enjoy the wonderful Tibetan architectural art, but also can experience a soul baptism in that holy atmosphere.

Jokhang Temple(大昭寺), Tibetan for "Jue Kang", aka "Zula Kang" is a Tibetan Buddhist end for believers pilgrimage. In their hearts, the sacred Jokhang Temple is not inferior to Potala Palace. Whether from the location, or in the minds of the Tibetan Buddhist believers, the Jokhang is truly the center and shrines of Tibetan Buddhist and has extremely high and holy place in the history of Tibetan Buddhism.

Barkhor Street(八廓街) is also called Bajiao Street. Barkhor Street is the most typical ancient street in Lhasa. Because of its ancient cultural heritage, long history and tradition, it was nominated in the list of “national historical and cultural street top ten”.

» Norbulingka
Norbulingka(罗布林卡) meaning the baby garden, is the ancient summer palace of the Dalai Lama's summer office. There are a lot of sites and treasures here. The park has more than 300 houses which is the largest and the most beautiful garden in Tibetan history. Norbulingka has beautiful environment, various kinds of and large quantities of plants and flowers. There are a lot of shade blocks out the sun which looks like Lhasa's "Hidden paradise."

Sera Temple(色拉寺) is located in the northern mountain suburbs of Lhasa, is one of the three major monasteries of the Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Together with Drepung Temple and Ganden Temple, they are collectively known as the three major monasteries in Lhasa. Sera Temple was built in the period of Yongle in Ming Dynasty (1419) which is the last one of the three major monasteries. Sera in Tibetan language means "Wild Rose Garden Temple."

Tibet Museum(西藏博物馆) is located in the southeast corner of Norbulingka in Lhasa, Tibet's first museum with modern functionality. Tibet Museum covers an area of 53,959 square meters, with a total construction area of 23,508 square meters, the exhibition area of 10,451 square meters, looking magnificent.

Namtso Lake(纳木错) is located in central Tibet, is the second largest saltwater lake in China, the world's highest large lake. The lake elevation is 4718 meters, the approximate shape of a rectangle. From east to west, the length is over 70 kilometers and from north to south the length is over 30 kilometers. Namtso Lake covers an area of over 1,920 square kilometers.

» Yangbajing
Yangbajing(羊八井) is located in Dangxiong County, the northeast of Lhasa City. The geothermal field is flat with an altitude of 4300 meters. The mountains on the south and north are at an altitude of 5000~6000 meters on which developed modern glaciers. The annual average water temperature is 5 ℃ and the local annual average temperature is 2.5 ℃.

Ramoche Temple(小昭寺) was built in the Tang Dynasty, in the same period with the Jokhang Temple. In 7th century, Princess Wen Cheng ordered Tibetan and Han craftsmen to build. It is popular with the inland people.

» Gandan Temple
Gandan Temple
Gandan Temple(甘丹寺) (Tibetan: Willie: Dga'-ldan; Tibetan pinyin: Gandain), located on the south bank of Lhasa River, Lhasa Dazi territory. The temple has an altitude of 3,800 meters and it is 57 km from Lhasa. It is the most special temple in the six Yellow Sect temples as it was prepared to be built by Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelug Sect of Buddhism in 1409 personally. It can be said to be the ancestral temple of the Gelug Sect. Together with Drepung Temple and Sera Temple they are "the three major temples" in Lhasa.
