We stayed at the Beijing Li Shi Hotel for a one-week vacation to Beijing. The hotel is located in a hutong, close to Wanfujing, Tiananmen, the Forbidden City, Lama Temple and Confucius Temple. We walked to all these places.
The room is quite spacious. Rooms are clean and tidy. Reception staff all young, eager and helpful as far as their english can reach. Not too much Language trouble. The hotel changes towels and sheets on a daily basis. The business centre downstairs provides internet and email. I used the business centre for email and fax. It is quite cheap and all OK. They offer high level of service.
The food in the area is also great, including some of the small restaurants in the hutong.the restaurants are small and "authentic".
I would recommend this hotel for travellers expecting something of the real Beijing. Not the kind of place to stay if you require Sheraton standard.
