The Henan Museum (河南博物馆), as one of the four grand museums in China, is situated in Nongye Road, Zhengzhou. It was originally constructed in 1927 in Kaifeng and relocated to Zhengzhou in 1961. The present building was built up in 1991. Its appearance of hourglass seems to tell you what will deposit here after the time flies.
Henan Museum is a history and art museum with an area of more than 100,000 square. The building takes up an area of 78,000 square. Inside the museum, there are basic exhibition halls, specialized exhibition halls and provisional exhibition halls. For the first batch of exhibitions, two basic displays and six specialized displays are offered. They are rich in contents, presenting a spectacular sight to visitors.
Henan Museum is the home to over 130,000 pieces of cultural relic treasures. Among them, the prehistoric cultural relics, bronze vessels of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, and pottery and porcelain wares of the various dynasties in Chinese history possess most distinguishing features.
