We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Taipei 101

Taipei (台北101), formerly known as the Taipei International Financial Center, is situated in Xinyi District, Taipei. The landmark skyscraper was begun construction in 1999 and completely finished in 2004. At present, it is acknowledged as the “Third Tallest Building” in the world. However, it once ranked officially as the world’s tallest from 2004 to 2010. It has the fastest elevator (reach the 89th floor directly in 38seconds), which has been listed in Guinness World Records.

Taipei 101 with a height of 509 meters, comprises 101 floors above ground and 5 floors underground. The building approach to style incorporates traditional classical design elements and the native characteristic. The main body is divided into podium building and tower building.

B2-B4 are parking lots. B1-4th floor are shopping center. The 5th floor is the location of banks and several financial centers. The 6th -84th floors are used for common offices building. The 85th floor is business club. From 86th floor to 88th floor are viewing restaurant. The 89th floor is the interior view layer and the 91th is outdoor viewing platform.

The appearance of Taipei 101 in night lights on the theme of rainbow, transposing each day. For instance, the Monday is red, Tuesday is orange…… It begins to light on when sun sets and close at 22:00. In special festivals, the exposed wall lights with special words or graphics with festive theme.
