History: Heihe is the cradle of Manchu, Oroqen nationality, and Ewenki nationality. According to the evidence of archeology, as early as Paleolithic age our ancestors labored and multiplied in this area. Heishui Governor’s Office was established in Tang Dynasty. In 1933, Japanese invader occupied Heihe and set up a puppet Heihe Province in 1934. After the liberation in August, 1945, the first administrative office of people’s democratic state power came into being.
Climate: As Heihe is close to the birthplace of freezing air-Siberia grassland, chill is one of the main characteristics. Hehei features a cold temperate continental monsoon climate. Its annual average temperature is -1.3℃ with minimum temperature of -40℃. Annual range of temperature is from 44.2℃ to 46.7℃.
Transportation: Airway- Heihe Airport is about 17km from Heihe downtown and 14.5 km from China-Russia border. At present, it only opens airline to Harbin and airline to Beijing via Harbin.
Railway- Heihe is a transfer hub of northern regions along river. It is convenient to Harbin, Qiqihar by train in Heihe. The Heilongjiang Bridge connected Beihei Railway and Siberia Railway is under construction.
Highway- National Road Heihe-Dalian passes through the whole city.
