History: Originally, it was only a small town under the control of Tangyuan county. The development of the region is result from the coal industry. Result from the coal industry. In June, 1939, Tangyuan county and Luobei county combined into Heli County. After the liberation, Heli county upgraded to city-prefecture and named Xingshan city. In 1951, Xingshan city was changed into Hegang city under Heilongjiang’s jurisdiction.

Attractions: China-Russia Border Port (国门)- A H-shaped modern construction stands along the bank of Heilongjiang river, which is the China-Russia Border Port (Guomen). The shape of “H” refers to the first letter of “Hegang”. The national emblem sparks on it. It is the symbol of our country’s dignity.
