We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Four Treasures of the Study

Han nationality has many unique appliance. It not only shows Han Chinese customs different from other ethnics, but also make a contribution to the progress and development of world culture. The most typical appliances are the writing tool called the "four treasures of the study": writing brushes, ink sticks, paper and ink stones.

Chinese calligraphy tools and material essentially consists of a writing brush, ink stick, paper, and ink stone. People often refer to them as "four treasures of the study", roughly say that they are essential four treasure objects in literary study. Basically because the ancient Chinese literati can write or draw, or both can write and draw, writing brushes, ink sticks, paper and ink stones are inseparable from them.

The name of the study start in the history of Northern and Southern Dynasties (AD 420--589 years), refers specifically the appliances in literary study, including writing brush, ink sticks, paper, and ink stones, and was hailed as "four treasures. Ink Stones
Although ink stones rank third in the line of succession of "brush and ink stick, paper and ink stone". But in one respect, it ranks lead position. Among the so-called "four treasures", ink stones are the most important which is due to its solid texture and can be passed on from generation to generation.
