During B.C. 770- B.C. 221, Ji State established city in Beijing area, then defeated by Yan State, moved capital to Ji called Yanjing or Yandu. Qin Dynasty, Beijing was set up as Ji county under the administration of Guangyang prefecture.
In the 5th year of Han Gaozu, it was one part of Yan State and in the first of year of Yuanfeng, it was subordinate to Youzhou. In 607, Sui Dynasty changed Youzhou to Zhuojun. An Lushan respected himself as emperor in Beijing as the time of An Shi rebellion. From Yuan Dynasty, the Khanate of Mongolia made the domination. Beijing became the capital of the whole China named Yuan Dadu, serving as the interpersonal center of the nation. Manchu troops entered and stationed in Beijing, kickinf off the government of Qing Dynasty to China.
Owing to its profound history and the frequent changes of dynasties, Beijing was given a brilliant cultural heritage. Beijing possessed numerous imperial architectures, royal gardens and mausoleums. Through flowing of thousands of years, Beijing came into being the special culture in folk custome, folk house, arts, dining, arts, etc..
