Description: Chiang nationality (羌族) is ancient minority in the western part of China. It is called the “the nationality on the cloud”. With an population of about 309,576, it mainly gathers in THE Tibetan Qinang Autonomous Prefecture of Ngawa in Sichuan province and Qiang Autonomous County in Mianyang city.

Religion: The religion of Chiang is still in the stage of original religion, centering on natural worship and ancestor worship. In addition, Buddhism from Tibet has an important impact on Chiang nationality.
Clothing Character: Basically, the clothes of Chiang follows the style of robe, with skin, fur and fabrics of flax as the main cloth. Both man and women are dressed in long gown and waistcoat of sheepskin. They are accustomed to wear turban, waistband and tie legging.

Handicraft Art: Chiang has exquisite skill to manufacture handicrafts. The folk arts and crafts such as saddle, earring, bangle, ornaments, accessories, stone carving, wooden carving, lacquerware, woven carpet and Chiang embroidery enjoy high reputation not only at home but abroad.
Architecture: Chiang’s architecture is well-known for pillbox, stone room, rope bridge, dolly way as well as dam. Pillbox was built next to public house to stop the enemy. It is high between 10 meters to 30 meters with patters of four, six or eight corners.
