We don&#8217;t have enough time to hike from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/china-travel\/great-wall-of-china\/liujiakou-great-wall\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Liujiakou Great Wall<\/span> <\/a>to Xuliukou Great Wall, instead again we drive from Liujiakou Village to Xuliukou Village where Xuliukou Great Wall is located.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">If you keep on hiking from Xuliukou Great Wall to the east, you will get to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/travel_blog\/beijing_china_sightseeing\/shanhaiguan_trip.php\">Shanhaiguan Pass<\/a><\/span>; to the west, you will reach <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/great_wall\/badaling.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Badaling Great Wall<\/a><\/span> around Beijing.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_23573\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-23573\" style=\"width: 520px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-23573\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/the_wall_east_of_beijing_to_the_sea-1-1-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"520\" height=\"306\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/the_wall_east_of_beijing_to_the_sea-1-1-2.jpg 520w, https:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/the_wall_east_of_beijing_to_the_sea-1-1-2-300x177.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 520px) 100vw, 520px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-23573\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Xuliukou section of the Great Wall on the Great Wall east of Beijing<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Xuliukou Village is under the administration of Yanggezhuang Town of Qian&#8217;an County of Tangshan City, Hebei Province. So Xuliukou Great Wall is the most eastern section of the Wall within Tangshan City in Hebei Province.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Xuliukou Great Wall has been turned into a scenic area officially known as Xuliukou Jiulongquan Scenic Area, classified as AA national scenic spot, which is mainly composed of Xuliukou Great Wall, Jiulong Pool, forest&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Xuliukou Great Wall now has 11 remaining forts, one of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall dating back to over 400 years. Xuliukou literally means &#8220;Xuliu Pass&#8221;. But now the Great Wall pass is gone. The wall in this section is heavily damaged and the forts as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">We stop at the entrance to Xuliukou Jiulongquan Scenic Area and pay RMB 5 as environmental protection fee before allowed to enter the park with a well paved cement path leading to the Great Wall of Xuliukou.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The slopes on both sides of the cement path are planted with&nbsp;tiny plots of grass and bushes. The black grass on the mountain high on our right side tells us the mountain has been burned. Verdana;\">The bricks in the wall are in pieces and some of them you could find in the stone courtyards in Xuliukou village where many of them are the descendants of the army and builders of the Great Wall.<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully the past is past&nbsp; and the present wall will remain here much longer for people to remember the great history of China&#8217;s Great Wall
