If hiking on unrestored and original sections of the Wall is your main interest, then Chengziyu Great Wall is not to be missed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This section of the Great Wall lies to the west of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/china-travel\/great-wall-of-china\/xiaohekou-great-wall\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Xiaohekou Great Wall<\/a><\/span>. If you keep on walking from Chengziyu Great Wall to the west, you will reach <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/great_wall\/badaling.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Badaling Great Wall<\/span> <\/a>in Beijing; to the east and south, you will get to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/travel_blog\/beijing_china_sightseeing\/shanhaiguan_trip.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shanhai Pass<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Chengziyu Great Wall is named after the village for the name&#8217;s sake. Chengziyu Village is under the administration of Fuxiang County of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/side_trips\/beijing_beidaihe_qinhuangdao_tour.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Qinhuangdao<\/span> <\/a>in Hebei Province.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We drive westward about 15km from <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/china-travel\/great-wall-of-china\/xiaohekou-great-wall\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Xiaohekou Great Wall<\/a><\/span> along the asphalt mountain road past Xigu Village (3km), Damashan Mountain\uff086km) and\u00a0Dongjiakou Village (14km),\u00a0\u00a0and finally get to Chengziyu Village.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_23573\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-23573\" style=\"width: 520px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-23573\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/the_wall_east_of_beijing_to_the_sea-1-1-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"520\" height=\"306\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/the_wall_east_of_beijing_to_the_sea-1-1-2.jpg 520w, https:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/the_wall_east_of_beijing_to_the_sea-1-1-2-300x177.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 520px) 100vw, 520px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-23573\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Chengziyu Great Wall on the Great Wall east of Beijing<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Actually there are much to see on the Great Wall near Xigu Village, Damaoshan Mountain and Dongjiakou Village. Not enough time, we have to give up. Maybe next time. There were three castles built in Ming Dynasty &#8211; Damaoshan castle\uff0cDongjiakou Castle and Chengziyu Castle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">On our way to Chengziyu Great Wall, we ask our driver to stop at Dongjiakou Village to snap some pictures. He is also a member of China Great Wall Protection Association.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He is the 14th generation of the descendants from\u00a0the army and builders led by Qi Jiguang\u00a0from Yi Wu, a town in southern China. Mr. Zhang suggests we climb the west section since we come to the village in the afternoon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He says it is better to come to enjoy the Chengziyu Great Wall in the morning hiking the east section for\u00a0better views. He also introduces that in the past between the two sections the valley pass of the Great Wall. Now Chengziyu Pass has disappeared.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Half way on the hill, we turn back at the village down blow. Mr.Zhang says the village is nestled in the valley in the shape of the Big Dipper.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Look at the east and zoom in the line of the Great Wall towers On the right side (south) was inside the wall while on the left side was outside the wall.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>If the residents from outside the wall entering the Great wall pass, they must show their ID documents in the past.
