There are many sections of the Wall to be visited starting from its eastern tip of the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/qinhuangdao_attractions\/old_dragon_head_qinhuangdao.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Head of Old Dragon<\/a><\/span> at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/travel_blog\/beijing_china_sightseeing\/shanhaiguan_trip.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">S<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">hanhaiguan<\/span><\/a> ( Shanhai Pass) in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/travel_blog\/beijing_china_sightseeing\/qinhuangdao_trip.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Qinhuangdao<\/a><\/span> to its western end of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/travel_blog\/beijing_china_sightseeing\/shanhaiguan_trip.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jiayuguan Pass<\/a><\/span> in Gansu Province.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Jiumenkou Great Wall was an important pass of the Great Wall in Ming Dynasty (1368 &#8211; 1644). It is connected to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/travel_blog\/beijing_china_sightseeing\/jiaoshan_great_wall.php\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Jiaoshan Great Wall<\/span> <\/a>and further linked to the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/qinhuangdao_attractions\/old_dragon_head_qinhuangdao.php\">Head of Old Dragon<\/a><\/span> at <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/travel_blog\/beijing_china_sightseeing\/shanhaiguan_trip.php\">Shanhai Pass<\/a><\/span>.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><br \/>\nIt is situated in Xintaizi village of Lijiaxiang Town in Suizhong County of Liaoning Province,\u00a0about 16km northwest of Shanhaiguan, with a total length of 1704m, spanning a 100m wide river named\u00a0Jiujiang River.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<figure id=\"attachment_23573\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-23573\" style=\"width: 520px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-23573\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/the_wall_east_of_beijing_to_the_sea-1-1-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"520\" height=\"306\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/the_wall_east_of_beijing_to_the_sea-1-1-2.jpg 520w, https:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/the_wall_east_of_beijing_to_the_sea-1-1-2-300x177.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 520px) 100vw, 520px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-23573\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jiumenkou Great Wall on the Great Wall east of Beijing<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The Great Wall on the river has nine sluice gates, hence the name of Jiumenkou Great Wall, which literally means Nine Gates Pass Great Wall. This section of the Great Wall was originally built in Nirthern Qi Dynasty (479-502) and was rebuilt in\u00a01381 in Ming Dynasty by General Xuda who led the army and local farmers constructing the wall from Xifenkou to Jiumenkou, one of the important passes in the northeast of Beijing.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">This is a restored section of the Great Wall, and rebuilt and revamped under the call by Deng Xiaoping &#8220;Love Our Motherland and Rebuild Our Great Wall&#8221; during 1980s. In September 2002, Jiumenkou Great Wall was listed as World Cultural Heritage site.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">After simple breakfast at the ancient city of Shanhaiguan, we drive directly to the site of Jiumenkou Great Wall. It is still in early spring and here far north of Beijing, we expect a late coming of spring with little green colour. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Each of the gate is 5m wide.
