The Danxia landform features red-colored sandstones characterized by steep cliffs in a valley.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Danxia landform is different from\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/china-travel\/china-travel-review\/the-most-beautiful-yadan-landforms-in-china\/\">Yadan\u00a0landform<\/a><\/span> which originates from Uyghur in Xinjiang which means &#8220;steep hills&#8221;, the landforms which have been formed by years of wind and water erosion. Danxia landform also sets itself from\u00a0karst landform\u00a0which consists of limestones and\u00a0contains caves interconnecting networks. &#8220;Danxia&#8221; is named after Mount Danxia, one of the most beautiful Danxia landforms in\u00a0China.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Till Jan 31, 2008, there are totally 790 Danxia landforms found in 26 provinces in China. <\/span><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">In the &#8220;China Beauty Selection&#8221; activity\u00a0held in 2005 sponsored by &#8220;China National Geography&#8221; magazine, the seven most beautiful Danxia landforms were chosen, which are listed as below:<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">1. Mount Danxia (China Red Stone Park) in Guangdong Province<br \/>\n2. Mount Wuyi (World Cultural and Natural Heritage) in Fujian Province<br \/>\n3. Danxia Landscape in Taining County\u00a0in\u00a0Fujian Province<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">4. Mount Longhushan\u00a0(cradle of Taoism) in\u00a0Jiangxi Province <\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">5\u00a0 Mount Langshan in Hunan Province<br \/>\n6. Zhangye Danxia Landform in Gansu Province<br \/>\n7. Chishui Danxia Landform in Guizhou Province<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">In 1999, Mount Wuyi entered UNESCO&#8217;s list of World Heritage Sites, both natural and cultural. <\/span><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">In 2010, 6 Danxia landscapes in southern China, with a general name of &#8220;China Danxia&#8221;, were\u00a0listed as a World Heritage Site. The six\u00a0listed Danxia landform\u00a0sites are: Mount Langshan, Mount Danxia, Taining,\u00a0 Mount Longhu, \u00a0Mount Jianglang, and Mount Chishui. <\/span><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><span
