Dazhenyu Great Wall is located above Dazhenyu Village, about 80km north of center Beijing, hence the name Dazhenyu Great Wall. “Dazhenyu” literally means “Big Nut-tree\u00a0Valley”.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dazhenyu Village is nestled\u00a0on\u00a0a small basin in\u00a0the valley surrounded by the mountains. The whole village is made of 5 natural villages with 450 households and 850 villagers.<\/span><\/p>\n

The village has an area of 15.6 square kilometers, 89% forest coverage, with\u00a0the unique natural environment, rich in tourism resources, distinct seasons.<\/span><\/p>\n

In spring flowers are blooming; in summer,\u00a0here is a good place to enjoy the cool air; in autumn, everywhere is\u00a0bore\u00a0with fruits, the most well-known chestnuts, almonds, walnuts, but also fresh apple, pear, persimmon, red fruit; in winter, the snow forms a good view of scenery.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nThe 9-kilometer Ming Dynasty Great Wall meanders on the mountain above the village. The Dazhenyu Great Wall is mainly composed of the three bits of the Wall –\u00a0<\/span> Luanling Great Wall<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Lianyunling Great Wall<\/span><\/a>, and Xiangshuihu Great Wall<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/span> <\/p>\n

Now the west section of\u00a0Luanling Great Wall<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is not allowed to hike for the \u00a0wild Great Wall protection. The small east section has been renovated\u00a0 and opend to the public. Lianyunling Great Wall<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is totally forbidden for hiking.<\/span><\/span>But you can walk close to the Wall for a close look. Xiangshuihu Great Wall<\/span><\/a>\u00a0( or Moshikou Pass Great Wall ) is open to the hikers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n


\nThe most popular and legal\u00a0hiking trail is walking from Yangshen Grand Valley up to Luanling Great Wall<\/span><\/a><\/span>, clamber up to\u00a0Lianyunling Great Wall<\/span><\/a> for a look, then climb down to the Moshikou Pass<\/span><\/a>. At the Moshikou Pass, you either choose to leave or continue to hike\u00a0Xiangshuihu Great Wall<\/span><\/a> since Moshikou Pass is also the entrance to Xiangshuihu Great Wall.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
