The pass building also had an inner city, so the fort\u00a0had two passes, hence &#8220;shuang guan&#8221; &#8211; double passes. The fort was built in\u00a01404. In 1973,\u00a0a dam was built here 33 mters high and 112 meter wide, adding much grandness the Great Wall,\u00a0but\u00a0at the same time,\u00a0pitifully damaging the original structure\u00a0of the ancient pass.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The bit of the Great Wall east of Moshikou Pass is locally referred as Xiangshuihu Great Wall perched on\u00a0a steep slope over 1000 meters long with two towers. &#8220;Xiangshuihu&#8221; literally means &#8220;the gurgling lake Great Wall&#8221;, named after the\u00a0the rippling sound of water flowing\u00a0through the ancient pass in the valley\u00a0below the Great Wall.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Exactly speaking, Moshikou Pass narrowly refers to\u00a0the pass itself, or the entrance of Xiangshuihu Great Wall. But People often\u00a0use Moshikou Pass, or Moshikou Pass\u00a0Great Wall, to refer to Xiangshuihu Great Wall, or vice versa. So Moshikou Great Wall and Xiangshuihu Great Wall ofen mean the same section of the Wall.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The Moshikou Pass was bulit in the valley flanked east by Xiangshuihu Great Wall and northwest by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/tag\/lianyunling-great-wall\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener tag\">Lianyunling Great Wall<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/tag\/luanling-great-wall\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener tag\">Luanling Great Wall<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The three sections of the Wall &#8211; Xiangshuihu Great Wall, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/tag\/lianyunling-great-wall\/\" rel=\"tag\">Lianyunling Great Wall<\/a>\u00a0 and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/tag\/luanling-great-wall\/\" rel=\"tag\">Luanling Great Wall<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"> are often referred as\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/tag\/dazhenyu-great-wall\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener tag\">Dazhenyu Great Wall<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In another word, Dazhenyu Great Wall is mainly composed of the three bits of the Wall &#8211; Xiangshuihu Great Wall,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/tag\/lianyunling-great-wall\/\" rel=\"tag\">Lianyunling Great Wall<\/a> and , which\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/tag\/luanling-great-wall\/\" rel=\"tag\">Luanling Great Wall<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">\u00a0\u00a0last about 9km.
