The director of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, the Beijing Municipal Government and the People’s government of Hebei Province jointly announce a worldwide public art solicitation for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 10 “best solutions” will be permanently installed in the National Speed Skating Pavilion, the entrance to Yanqing Competition Main Area, Zhangjiakou Award Square and other core locations, together with the competition venues, constituting an important cultural heritage of the Beijing Winter Olympics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is reported that the public art works solicitation is mainly in the form of sculpture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Urban sculptures will be an important element of Beijing Winter Olympic Games and an important carrier to spread the concept of Beijing Winter Olympic Games and show the integration of Chinese culture and science and technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The global solicitation will be focused on the theme of “Paint Ice and Snow to Engrave the Winter Games”, aimed at fully embodying in public art language the “pure passion dating” ice and snow of the Winter Olympics vision; expressing the green, sharing, open, non-corrupt concept; carrying forward Chinese excellent traditional culture; advocating mankind global awareness of community of fate, and integrated into the intelligence games concept; contributing wisdom and strength – “spatacular, special, excellent “of the Beijing Olympics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the solicitation announcement, there are no restrictions on the artistic style, form, material, specification, expression methods and techniques, advocating the design of novel modeling and application of new materials technology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The deadline for solicitation is October 15. After the solicitation, the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Winter Olympic Games will invite experts and judges to select 100 finalists and 20 nominees in turn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ” 20nominees” will make formal samples for public display, and the final 10 “best proposals” will be selected by online voting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All the winning artists will receive a certificate of honor from the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Winter Olympic Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
