Early this morning, 10 October, we continue our self-drive west\u00a0along the National Highway G318 from Yajiang (\u96c5\u6c5f)\u00a0to Litang (\u00a0\u7406\u5858), where we are going to head south to get to our final destination today &#8211; Daocheng (\u7a3b\u57ce).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Yajiang to Litang Road Trip<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The 138 km drive from Yajiang to Litang reminds us of the overland from <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/sichuan-travel\/drive-from-kangding-to-xinduqiao\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/sichuan-travel\/drive-from-kangding-to-xinduqiao\" target=\"_blank\">Kangding to Xinduqiao<\/a>, where we had to ascend the high Zheduo Pass at 4290 meters; for the road trip from <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/sichuan-travel\/xinduqiao\/drive-from-xinduqiao-to-yajiang\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/sichuan-travel\/xinduqiao\/drive-from-xinduqiao-to-yajiang\" target=\"_blank\">Xinduqiao to Yajiang<\/a>, we also had to\u00a0climb over\u00a0the high pass of Gaoersi Pass at 4412 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now today here\u00a0from Yajiang to Litang, we have to go over Kazila Pass\u00a0(\u5361\u5b50\u62c9\u5c71\u53e3) at the elevation of 4718 meters, the highest pass on our trip so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-full wp-image-19133\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"580\" height=\"255\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Yanjiang-toLitang.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27749\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Yanjiang-toLitang.jpg 580w, https:\/\/www.tour-beijing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Yanjiang-toLitang-300x132.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><figcaption>Drive from Yajiang to Litang along G318<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It is again snowing due&nbsp;to the&nbsp;high elevation as&nbsp;we are&nbsp;driving up higher and higher from the low elevation of Yajiang to the high mountains on route, which all surpass 4000 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The golden and yellow meadows and autumn leaves, and green pine trees are covered with white snow. It is an old, but booming town with the coming of more and more travelers on their way to Daocheng or Lhasa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hotels and restaurants are seen dotted here and there in the town.
