If you are planning your Li River Cruise<\/a> on your Guilin tour<\/a>, your boat will bring you to Yangshuo<\/a>. No matter where you stay or travel in Yangshuo, you will find yourself ending up here in the West Street (Xi Jie) \u897f\u8857, a less-1000-meter vibrant street. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alternatively you may take the shuttle directly from Guilin Airport or take the bus from Guilin Bus Passenger Transport South Station (\u6842\u6797\u6c7d\u8f66\u5ba2\u8fd0\u5357\u7ad9) to Yangshuo. If you bus to Yangshuo, just take a less-than-10-minute walk from Yangshuo Bus Passenger Trasnport Station to the vibrant traffic-free West Street. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Location of Yangshuo Xijie Pedestrian Street<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Xi Jie ( \u897f\u8857\uff09in Chinese literally means “West Street”. Yangshuo West Street is recognized by Google Map as “Xi Jie” as well as “Xijie Pedestrian Street”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The street roughly starts from Yangshuo Dock (\u9633\u6714\u7801\u5934) where you disembark from your Li River cruising boat to Pantao Road (\u87e0\u6843\u8def), a northeast-southwest street. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you bus to Yangshuo, you can have a less-than-10-minute walk from Yangshuo Bus Passenger Trasnport Station to the vibrant traffic-free street. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mixing with the locals at Yangshuo West Street<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This renovated old street has a a carnival feel, full of bars, souvenirs stands, restaurants, shops. Though the commercialization has cheapened its allure a bit, it is still an interesting place for people watching, drinking, eating and shopping. You will find a lot of street food, and souvenirs ranging from tacky gadgets to nice Miao embroidery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The West Street has sideways and parallel streets too with a lot of restaurants from Hong Kong, to Italian and German cuisines. It is very much atmospheric at night to come here for dinner or drinking. It is very crowded, so guard your money. For a leisurely stroll, come here during the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
