Located 48 km south-west of Beijing city center, Peking Man Site at Zhoukoudian<\/a> is home to the remains of Sinanthropus pekinensis, who lived in the Middle Pleistocene ( \u4e2d\u66f4\u65b0\u4e16\u65f6\u4ee3) and remains of Homo sapiens sapiens dating back to 18,000\u201311,000 B.C along with various objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The site is an essential reminder of the prehistorical human societies of the Asian continent, an testament to the process of evolution.
