Taiyuan Railway Station is located at the east end of the east- west Yingze Avenue (\u8fce\u6cfd\u5927\u8857) and on the north-south Jianshe South Road (\u5efa\u8bbe\u5357\u8def) in the city center of Taiyuan. So Taiyuan Railway Station lies on a T-junction. The main building of Taiyuan Railway Station faces the west linked to the east end of the longest east-west street – Yingze Avenue (\u8fce\u6cfd\u5927\u8857) which roughly divides the city into two parts – north and south.<\/p>\n

For the main building, the left side is the exit, the middle is the entrance and the right is for the ticketing. \u00a0Above the entrance in the middle of the main building is a huge electronic timetable screen showing the realtime train schedule and information about the platforms.<\/p>\n

Taiyuan Railway Station is an essential train transportation hub connecting major cities within Shanxi including Datong, Pingyao, Jiexiu, and Yuncheng. Taiyuan Railway Station also links Shanxi to the outside world running to Beijing, Xian, Luoyang, Shanghai, Guangzhou and loads more. The highspeed trains have shortened the traveling time between Beijing and Taiyuan to 2 and half hours. At the time of my writing, Datong – Taiyuan – Xian Highspeed train line ( Da Xi Highspeed Trains ) is under construction. The overnight trains and normal trains go from Taiyuan to Pingyao, Xian, Datong and Wutai, further extending to Xian, Luouyang and Beijing.<\/p>\n

No taxi stands in Taiyuan Railway Station. If you need taking a taxi, you may go across the main road (Jianshe South Road) and hail a taxi by the road side. Please click\u00a0Taiyuan Taxi<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0for more information.<\/p>\n

Public Bus in Taiyuan Railway Station<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are plentiful bus lines around Taiyuan Railway Station. If you ‘d like to visit Pingyao Ancient City, you should go to Jianan Bus Station, about 3km to the south of Taiyuan Railway Station. If you woud go to Qikou, Jiexiu, please go to the Taiyuan West Bus Station, about 10km to the west east of Railway Station ( Yingze Avenue).<\/p>\n

If you’d like to go from Taiyuan Railway Station to Datong, Beijing, Xian and Shijiazhuang, you should go to Taiyuan Long-distance Bus Station ( just to the north of Taiyuan Railway Station). If you”d like to travel from Taiyuan to Mount Wutai, please take bus from Taiyuan East Bus Station.<\/p>\n

Taiyuan Railway Station faces the west connecting the east end of Yingze Avenue. The middle of the main building is the entrance to the Railway Station with a huge electronic train timetable screen above.<\/p>\n
