How to visit Jinhai Lake

Are you in the process of having excursions around Beijing in this beautiful autumn? Jinhai Lake is not to be missed. Jinhai Lake, also known as Jinhai Lake Scenic Area, is located in the east of Pinggu District, about 85km northeast of Beijing downtown. The Jinhai Lake Scenic Area has a peripheral area of 27 square kilometers including Haizi Reservoir.

Haizi Reservoir was first constructed in the early 1959, and rebuilt in 198 and expanded in 1974. So it is a man-made lake. It has a water surface area of 6.6 square kilometers. Jinhai Lake is situated to the south of the Grand Gold Mount ( well known for producing gold), hence the name of “Jinhai lake” which literally means “Golden River”.

Now Jinhai Lake has been turned into a recreational and sightseeing area including mountain hiking and and lakeside vacationing.
