We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Xian Taibai Mountain

Taibai Mountain, being the highest peak of the Qinling Mountain Rang as well as the highest in the east of the mainland of China, rises 3,767 meters above sea level. From of old, it is the scenic spot that the literati and scientists yearn towards for its grand verve, arduous figures. Because of old climate in the mountain, the thick layers of snow have been covering on the top of the mountain for almost the whole year. Snow on Taibai Mountain in June, one of the famous Eight Views on Guanzhong Plain attracts too many tourists both native and overseas.

Situated on the northern piedmont of Taibai Moutain in Meixian Country, the Taibai Mountain National Forest Park covers an area of 2,949 hectares, with 10 scenic zones and 180-odd scenic attractions. It is the highest forest park in China, standing 620 to 3,511 meters above the sea level.

Xian Taibai MountainForest Sight is the main attraction in the park, with grotesque hill as its framework and brooks, lakes historic sited and relics here and there. In spring, you can see green spouting and flowers blossoming; In summer, oceans of trees stands beautifully on both sides with cool breeze; In summer, the mountain is dressed with the bright red maple leaves and golden fruits; In winter, the trees as well as the mountains being covered with the silver snow makes the park even spectacular.

Due to the distinctive climate range, the park features different climatic zones. vegetation zones and animal zones. The vegetation zone consists of 3 vegetation zones, 7 vegetation sub zones and 15 vegetation communities. It is also the natural nirvana for the animals. There are more than 1,690 kinds of forest animals and insects including the golden monkey, the giant panda, the takin, the snow leopard, the clouded leopard, the red-bellied tragopan, the serow, as well as the giant salamander. The best seasons to visit Taibai Mountain are summer and autumn.
