My Trip to Hangzhou
- On my way home

New year 2009 is in sight! I'm a little excited to spend my last day of the year 2008 in Hangzhou and usher in the new year 2009, though, now, I'm alone in my room at Xinqiao Hotel - my favorite hotel in Hangzhou. This morning I arrived at Hangzhou at 8:56am and took a taxi to Xinqiao Hotel. Each time I choose Xinqiao Hotel as my temporary lodging in Hangzhou. My parents do have enough space for me to stay at home, but I prefer to stay in a hotel to give both sides more privacy. I spent most of the day with my old-aged parents. Now they live in a army community supported by the government. All the people there are retired high ranking officers. At the age of 12, my father joined the army and since then he has served the army for all his life. Now they are taken good care of by the government. They are quite happy with their retirement life.

After dinner, I went back to my hotel - Xinqiao Hotel. Hangzhou is one of the most beautiful cities in China. It is a garden city! Hangzhou is well known for its West Lake. Every time I'm back to Hangzhou, I would walk around the lake and eagerly make up my long-time absence of Hangzhou. This time is no exception. At 9:00pm I walked out of my hotel and enjoyed the evening Hangzhou. Xinqiao Hotel is just next to the West Lake.


Jiebai Department Store, just in front of my hotel, is one of the largest stores in Hangzhou. On the last day of 2008, the store was offering big margin discount to attract the buyers.

This is Qingten Teahouse, one of my favorite teahouses in Hangzhou. There are many teahouses in Hangzhou, a typical leisure city in China.


Sofitel Hotel West Lake is a very nice hotel, just next to the West lake


The city of Hangzhou has a smart local government. They offer much Free Stuff to the tourists. You can find many bikes for free use ( one hour free )like this in many areas around the West Lake. And all parks around the lake is free of charge!
