Located in southwestern China on the upper reaches of the Changjiang (Yangtze) River, Chongqing Municipality is the largest industrial and commercial center in the southwest of China. Chongqing has been regarded as a "mountain city" because of its buildings on hillsides and mountains surrounding the city. The climate in Chongqing is often cloudy and misty. As a result, it is also called "the fog city". It's very hot in summer, hence the name of "furnace city". Chongqing is the best point to start a boat excursion and tour the world-famous Three Gorges on the Changjiang River.

Ms Reina Wang and I have a haf day tour of Chongqing city before we take flight back to Beijing.

Ciqikou is a place where you can find the old Chongqing. It is an ancient street in Shapingba Districtof Chongqing. It was named as it had supplied large sum of chinaware dating during Qing and Ming Dynasty. It was a busy dock before, which located at the lower reaches of Jialing River. After a thousand years, the street now remains as a symbol and miniature of the old Chongqing.















Then we move on to the Chongqing People's Hall. Chongqing People's Hall was built in June 1951. It was completed in April 1954. It's a building that models ancient buildings. It's also the representative building with special characteristics in Chongqing. The whole building is composed of an auditorium and three accompanying storied buildings-east building, south building, and north building. It covers a total area of 66,000 square meters, with the auditorium covering 18,500 square meters. Chongqing People's Hall is 65 meters high. The auditorium is 55 meters high. The internal diameter of the auditorium is 46.33 meters. The circle auditorium is surrounded by five-storeyed stand which are protruded out. It has a seating capacity of 4200.







Finally we visit a local park - Eling Park in Chongqing. It is located on the Eling Hill (Goose Hill), the Eling park was originally an ancient private garden named "Li Garden" made by Mr.Li Yaoting (1909-1911 A.D). With its good location and beautiful natural scenery, it is one of the best places to have a birds-eye-view of the whole city.
