Wangfujing Shopping Area
The so-called Wangfujing ( Wang fu Jing ) is now actually a commercial street in Beijing, starting East Chang'an Avenue on the south, ends with China Art Gallery on the north and the total distance is about 1.5km. It is the first modern business zone in Beijing.
Dazhalan Shopping Area
Dazhalan ( Da Zha Lan ) is the oldest and most famous unique old commercial street in Beijing. In the 1.26 squarekm, some original architetures are still well preserved. It is located in Qianmen district, south of Tiananmen Square. This 275-meter street possesses nine 36 shops in 9 industries.
Liulichang Antique Street
Liulichang ( Liu Li Chang - colored Glazed Plant ) is an antique culture street in Beijing. It is located south of Hepingmen Subway
Station, just next to Hepingmen Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant. Liulichang ( Colored Glazed Plant ) gets its name in Ming Dynasty when
the government established Colored Glazed Plant to produce fired colored glaze tiles to meet the need of royalty.
Xidan Shopping Area
Xidan Street is a very big shopping area and often frequented by Beijing local residents, unlike Wangfujing often visited by tourists. Here you can find various kinds things and almost no "specially for tourists" junk. The main part of the area is five or six giant malls. These are very old fashioned, Chinese style malls, similar to a US department store. Most have 5 to 7 floors, selling the usual stuff you would expect.
Jianguomenwai Street
This is the east part of Chang'an Avenue with international colour. Along this section of the Chang'an Avenue, you can find some big shopping malls, like Saite Shopping Center, Guiyou Shoping Mall, Friendship Store, even Silk Market is included with its indoor building finished.
Chaowai Street
This is a booming commercial street with lots of shopping centers. The street is close to the embassy area. Just name some of the shopping malls; Full Link Shopping Arcade, Huapa Commerce Mansion, Kuntai Center, Blue Island, Yabao Market etc.
Hongqiao Market
It is an indoor mall with a seafood market in the basement and 3 floors up for all kinds of stuff. Situated to the east of the Temple of Heaven on Tiantan Street, this market provides antiques, clothing, porcelain much more. Shops are all areas on all three floors in the main building. Lots of souvenirs are for you to choose. Don't forget to sharpen your skill of bargaining and be mindful of possible fakes.
Lai Tai Flower Street
Lai tai Flower Street is located on the east of Lufthansa at the CBD commercial district in the northeast of Beijing. The 300-meter-long street has several hundred shops all operate business linked to fresh cutting flower, bonsai, trees.
Panjiayuan Antique Market
Located in the corner within south-west of the Third Ring Road, the Panjiayuan Antiques Market is very accessible. The market operates mainly in antiques and arts and crafts. It also has thegood greputation of being the most inexpensive antiques market in Beijing,drawing lots of foreign and domestic tourists. It opens only on weekends.
Antique Shop-Curio City
Beijing Curio City is located in the corner within south-west of the Third Ring Road and, just next to Panjiayuan Antique Market. It is the Asia's largest curio arts and crafts trade center. It is China's first curio market permitted by Beijing Cultural Relics Bureau to secure the good's genuineness.
Centrally located in Beijing, south of Sanlitun Bar Street, it is an interesting place for bargain hunters in Beijing.
Yashow Market is a big draw oth both for the tourist and expats or even local people to do some serious shopping or
just for fun. Yashow is circled by the bars, restaurants and cafes of the Sanlitun area, the most popular eating and
drinking area for tourists and expats in the city.
