Dear Reina,

My wife, Doug, and I have just returned from our Beijing-Xian-Shanghai trip and want to thank you for the wonderful one week we spent in China and the most dedicated and professional service we received from our guides in Beijing (Alan), Xi'an (Jerry) and Shanghai (Bob) and their respective drivers.

I make these comments as a marketing research professional whose practice includes customer service quality fulfillment evaluation. Of particular importance is that all of our arrangements were made with Tour-beijing.com via E-Mail and everything was actually delivered as promised and more.

Best personal regards, Doug Cirruzzo

Shanghai Transportation

Shanghai is an international metropolitan city, one of the essential transportation hubs in China. It is easily accessible by international flights and cruise ships as well as domestic flights, trains, buses and ferry boats. Getting around in Shanghai is also very convenient with the most advanced transportation system including metro, maglev, taxi, and public buses.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport
Shanghai has two airports - Shanghai Pudong International Airport (the newer one) and Shanghai Hongqiao Airport (the older one). Shanghai Pudong International Airport is located in Pudong new zone, east of Huangpu River, about 30 kilometres from the city centre while Shanghai Hongqiao Airport is located in Puxi, west of Huangpu River, in the western suburbs of Shanghai, only 13 kilometers away from the city center of Shanghai. Shanghai Pudong Airport is the main hub for China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines ( the two merged in 2010), and an important international hub for Air China as well. Most of the international flights arrive at Shanghai Pudong Airport. Shanghai Hongqiao Airport has two international flights with "city-to-city" service to central Tokyo's Haneda Airport and central Seoul's Gimpo International Airport. So it is important to know from which airport you will depart or arrive in Shanghai. Shanghai Pudong Airport is about 40km apart from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport.

Shanghai Bus
Shanghai has over 1000 bus lines run by various bus companies such as Bashi, Dazhong, Guanzhong and Qiangsheng for the largest. The total bus number is daunting, putting people off. In Shanghai, unlike taxi and subway, public buses are not manageable though taking public bus is the safest and cheapest way of getting around in Shanghai. There are good reasons to keep from the bus due to the simple truth that it is difficult to navigate if you don't speak Chinese and aren't familiar with the city's myriad of bus lines.

Shanghai Subway
The Shanghai Metro is most favored by foreign tourists since it is easily manageable. The metro system in Shanghai includes subway, light railway lines and maglev.
