Tour Description
Pick up from your mid-town hotel around 7:30am in Shanghai. Drive about 1.5 hour and get to Suzhou - known historical and cultural city, as well as a key scenic tourist one. The city is often referred to as "The Venice of the Earth." Its famous private gardens are listed as World Culture Heritage. You will be arranged to visit the following highlights in Suzhou including lunch:
Lion Grove Garden (1 hour): Lion Grove Garden is well-known for the large and labyrinthine grottos of Taihu rock at the garden’s center. The name derives from the shape of these rocks which seem to be a group of lions.Lion Grove Garden is one of the four classic gardens in Suzhou.
Suzhou Museum & General Zhong Former Residence (1 hour): Suzhou Museum is a museum of ancient Chinese art, paintings, calligraphies, and handmade crafts. Covering an area of 10,700 square meters, Suzhou Museum exhibits four permanent collections related to this artistically flourishing era: Wu Treasures, Wu Pagoda Relics, Wu Arts and Crafts, and Wu Paintings and Calligraphy housing about 30,000 cultural relics.

Master-of-Nets Garden (1 hour): The Garden of the Master of the Nets is really a masterpiece, the best and most celebrated as a model Ming Dynasty Garden in all of Suzhou. The good use of space is the most effective thing about this garden. Rock arrangements and beautiful fish pools match each other as do the house and garden parts. The garden also holds many structures of using lattice windows to frame views of flowers or bamboo.
ShanTan Ancient Street (1 hour): Suzhou's Shantang Street is one of Suzhou's famous ancient streets with a long history of about 1,100 years. Its layout and architecture mostly represent the characteristics of Suzhou's old alleys. The street scenery, shops and architecture are in traditional style, providing great opportunities for some photographs. Lots of cafes on both sides of canal with great shopping.
Drive back to Shanghai and Drop-off service at your hotel before 6:00PM

Booking Note
1. It's a busy day with much walking. So be sure to wear comfortable shoes and have a good sleep the day before.
2. Normally free hotel Pickup is available if you are staying at a midtown hotel in Shanghai. For home pickup or pickup far from the downtown, please contact our trip advisor for more information.
3. The traffic in Shanghai is very bad sometimes. So we would like to have your patience if our driver and tour guide are a little bit later than the pre-arranged pick-up time due to traffic jam.
4. We offer Chinese lunch. Usually the tourist meals have a bad name. But we try our best to improve the quality of the lunch on the tour.
5. We do arrange some shopping on the tour as listed. Chinese tourist shops have a very bad name on the internet. Actually the things are not so bad as it is. The shopping stops are nice places for you to relax and at the same time to make use of the short time to familiarize yourself with the local products as well as help create more jobs for local people. The shopping is not compulsory.
6. If you feel you enjoyed yourself and have had a great time, gratuities are greatly appreciated.
