Shanghai Science & Technology Museum
Shanghai Science & Technology Museum is the biggest and most high-tech science museum with the theme of “Nature, Human, Science and Technology” in Pudong, Shanghai, close to Century Park, the largest park of the city. It has been the base of scientific education as well as the tour spot receiving raves from expatriated families with children.
With an area of 98,000 square meters, the museum is divided into five exhibition halls mainly. The “Earth Exploration” is a journey to the center of the Earth, complete with fossils. The rain forest part of the “Spectrum of Life” is home to more than 200 types of plants, including trees, bushes, herbs and epiphytes. “Children’s Technoland” has a walk-in heart and brain, as well as a stimulated construction zone with soft foam bricks. The vast “light of Wisdom” area has over a hundred interactive stations that bring scientific principles t life.
“Cradle of Designers” gives you the chance to design your own cards or create your own video. With background imagine, picture synthesis and voice identification, you can virtually talk with TV hosts face to face.
“Spectrum of Life” is a simulated tropical rainforest with robotic beetles and a bat cave. All the pieces the robot musician can play are programmed in advanced and stored in the control system of the computer. There are two IMAX3D cinemas and an iWerks theatre here.
