Just a quick email to thank all at Tour Beijing for a brilliant 3 days tour from Beijing to Jinan, Qufu and Mt.taishan. Shao Hao was one of our ancient five emperors, the son of Huang Emperor. His name means little son of Heaven of the second emperor. He founded the capital in Qiongsang Prefecture, later he moved to Qufu. As an emperor, his life lasted for 84 years. He has a very long life and died a natural death until his 100 years old.
It is called the “oriental Pyramid ”, as it is a stone construction with the pyramid shape. As high as 18 meters, the Mausoleum of Shao Hao covers an area of 125 acres. On the top of the mausoleum, there is a stone carved status. Near the statue, there are palaces, palace doors and stone memorial archways and etc. with stone fence all around
In the mausoleum, there are full of Chinese junipers and cypresses, towering ancient trees and green grass. Additionally, there are several tablets and stone carvings. On the stone carvings there record the chronological tables of repairing the tomb and sacrifices in succeeding dynasties.
The domed mound surrounded by a wall and complemented by a square platform with a soul tower for imperial tombs is much more complicated and artistic than earlier clay on stone pyramids, conveying an impression of substance and solemnity.
