Pingyao Zhenguo Temple
Zhenguo Temple is situated in Hao Dong village, 12kms away from the southeast of Pingyao city. Its former name is Jingcheng Temple, set up in 963 AD. It was recognized the provincial preserved target in 1965.
Covering an area of 10,892 square meters, the architecture area is about 5,000 square meters. Wanfo Hall, as the main architecture, is noted for its unique timberwork, the third to Nanchan Temple and Foguang Temple in Mt. Wutai. The hall has kept well for over 1,000 years for its science configuration. In the center of Wanfo Hall is the statue of Sakyamuni sitting on the Xumi Seat, his two disciples Jia Ye and A Nan serving on the two sides. The hall also sacrifices other 11 statues, vigorously and plumply.
In the back yard, the east is Kwan-yin Hall, the west is Tibetan King Hall and inside is the Sanfo Hall (Three-Buddha Hall), preserved frescos of Ming Dynasty. Its quiet and clean circumstance mirrors the sincere desire of Buddhists.
